Create a new item from document

In this article, we will explain you more about how you can Create / Add a New Item from an Invoice.

Information

The steps mentioned below for Creating a New item are similar to Estimate, Purchase Order and Credit Note.

iOS

  • Tap on  to open the side menu.
  • Tap on  Invoice from side menu bar.
  • To Edit tap on the Invoice that you want to Edit/Open.
  • For creating a new product tap Select a Product to Add as Item.
  • Tap on  next to search bar.
  • Enter the details of the product.
  • Tap on  Save. A new product will be saved.
  • Now you can see that product in the list of saved products so as to add it to invoice as an item.

Android

  • Tap on  to open the side menu.
  • Tap on Invoice from side menu bar.
  • Tap on the Invoice that you want to Edit/Open. Tap on  Edit.
  • For creating a new item tap on Select to add Items.
  • A popup containing a list of saved items will open.
  • Tap on to search.
  • In search bar enter the name of new item that you want to create/add.
  • Tap on Add Item.
  • Enter the details of item.
  • If you are not able to view Product/Item code(like HSN, SAC code ) field then you need to enable it from Settings -> Customization -> Preferences. Tap on Item code. Tap on yes. Tap on Save.
  • Tap on  Save. New item will be saved.
  • Now you can see that item in the list of saved items so that you can add it to invoice.

Web and Mac

There are two ways to create a new item from a document

1. Search to create a new item

2. Using + button

Search to create a new item

  • Open a document
  • To create a new item click on Search to Add Items.
  • A dropdown containing the list of saved items will open.
  • Enter new item name in search bar that you want to create.
  • Add New Item button will appear in dropdown.
  • Click on Add New Item
  • Enter the details of the item.
  • Click on Save. New item will be created.
  • Another popup will open, so that you can add this newly created item to the document.
  • If you don’t want to add it to the document then click on Cancel.
  • If you want to add newly created item to the document then enter all the details (Quantity, Discount, Tax, etc).
  • Click on Save.
  • Item will get added to the document.

Using + button

  • Open a document
  • Click on blue colored button.
  • Enter the details of the item (Title, Price, Suffix /, Description, Code No.)
  • Click on Save.
  • New item will be created.
  • Another popup will open, so that you can add this newly created item to the document.
  • If you don’t want to add it to the document then click on Cancel.
  • If you want to add newly created item to the document then enter all the details (Quantity, Discount, Tax, etc).
  • Click on Save.
  • Item will get added to the document.
