Not able to remove / change assigned client from a document

In this article, we will explain to you more about what you should do if you are not able to remove assigned/associated client from a document (Invoice / Purchase Order / Credit Note)

Not able to remove / change assigned client

If the document (Invoice / Purchase Order / Credit Note) is in Paid / P.Paid / Closed / P.Used state then you cannot change / remove the assigned client. To change / remove assigned client you need to remove the transactions of that document. The detailed information on how to remove transactions is discussed below

Now let’s discuss on how to remove / change the assigned client in detail: 

Android

  • Open the document (Invoice / Purchase Order / Credit Note) from which you want to change the assigned client.
  • Observe that the document from which you are trying to change / remove client is in Paid / P.Paid / Closed / P.Used state.
  • Now tap on Payments (Invoice, PO) / Refund (Credit Note) or Applied credits (If you have applied credit’s from Credit Note to an Invoice) button.
  • Tap on red colored trash button to delete the transactions (Payments, Refund / Applied Credits)
  • The document’s status will change to Unpaid (Invoice / Purchase Order) or Open (Credit Note) and now try to change the assigned client. You will be able to change the assigned client.

Web and Mac

  • Open the document (Invoice / Purchase Order / Credit Note) from which you want to change the assigned client.
  • Observe that the document from which you are trying to change / remove client is in P.Paid / Paid / Closed / P.Used state.
  • Now click on button of  Payments (Invoice, PO) / Refund (Credit Note) or Applied credits (If you have applied credit’s from Credit Note to an Invoice).
  • Click on red colored trash button to delete the transactions (Payments, Refund / Applied Credits)
  • The document’s status will change to Unpaid (Invoice / Purchase Order) or Open (Credit Note) and now try to change the assigned client. You will be able to change the assigned client.
